Astonbury Travel is a trading name of Patient Thread Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Astonbury Travel is an independent travel advisor under InteleTravel UK, ABTA membership P7384. InteleTravel UK are appointed agents of our ATOL-protected suppliers. This page explains how booking through us works and summarises the conditions that apply. It is a summary for your convenience: the binding terms are InteleTravel's booking conditions and, where applicable, the conditions of the travel supplier named on your confirmation. You will receive the applicable conditions before your booking is confirmed, and if anything on this page differs from them, those conditions prevail.
Who you book with
When you book through Astonbury Travel, your booking is made through InteleTravel UK Limited. Depending on what you book, your contract will be either with InteleTravel as the package organiser, or with the principal or supplier providing your travel arrangements (for example a tour operator, airline, cruise line or hotel) with InteleTravel acting as their agent. Which applies is made clear to you before you book and on your confirmation invoice. If you are ever unsure who your contract is with, ask us, or contact InteleTravel Customer Service on 0330 808 4419 or customerservice@inteletravel.com.
Which conditions apply
- Package holidays organised by InteleTravel are governed by the InteleTravel Package Holiday Terms and Conditions.
- Package holidays organised by another supplier, and single travel services such as accommodation-only or flight-only bookings, are governed by the InteleTravel Agency Terms of Business together with the supplier's own booking conditions.
Please read the applicable conditions carefully before you confirm your booking.
Booking and paying
- A deposit is payable when you book, typically £150 per person or more depending on the holiday; the exact amount, and any elements that must be paid in full at booking (many flights, for example), are advised before you book.
- For InteleTravel package holidays, the balance is due at least 12 weeks before departure. If the deposit or balance is not paid on time the booking may be cancelled and charges applied, as set out in the applicable conditions.
- Please check your confirmation invoice as soon as you receive it and tell us immediately if anything is wrong. Names must match the relevant passports exactly.
- Changes and cancellations are subject to the charges set out in the applicable booking conditions and, where relevant, the supplier's conditions; charges generally increase closer to departure.
How you pay. All payments are made to InteleTravel UK Limited or to the travel supplier named on your confirmation, never to Astonbury Travel or any individual personally. InteleTravel advisers are not authorised to accept payment into their own accounts, whether cash, cheques made out to the adviser or transfers to personal accounts. If you are ever asked for payment of that kind, do not pay it and contact customerservice@inteletravel.com.
Financial protection
Astonbury Travel is an independent travel advisor under InteleTravel UK, ABTA membership P7384. InteleTravel UK are appointed agents of our ATOL-protected suppliers.
InteleTravel UK Limited provides full financial protection for the package holidays it organises. Flight-inclusive packages are protected by its Air Travel Organiser's Licence, ATOL number 12022, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority. When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight-inclusive package you will receive an ATOL Certificate listing what is financially protected, where to find information on what this means for you, and who to contact if things go wrong. Package holidays that do not include flights are protected by a bond held by ABTA, The Travel Association. You can check an ATOL Certificate at atol.org.
Some of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. But ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. This website will provide you with information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service offered before you make your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. For more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to www.caa.co.uk.
InteleTravel is a member of ABTA, membership number P7384, and is obliged to maintain a high standard of service under ABTA's Code of Conduct. ABTA also offers a scheme for the resolution of disputes, approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute; see abta.com.
Your responsibilities
- Passports, visas and entry requirements are your responsibility. Check the requirements for every country you visit or transit in good time, at gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice, and ask us for a destination advice sheet for your trip.
- Check health and vaccination guidance for your destination at travelhealthpro.org.uk.
- We strongly recommend you take out suitable travel insurance for everyone in your party from the moment you book.
If something goes wrong
If a problem arises while you are away, tell the local representative (where there is one) and the supplier of the service in question, such as the hotel, without undue delay so they can put things right, and contact us as soon as possible. If the matter is not resolved locally, follow it up promptly after you return home, ideally within 28 days, by writing to InteleTravel's Customer Services at customerservices@inteletravel.com with your booking reference. If a complaint cannot be resolved, ABTA's dispute resolution scheme is available through abta.com. You can of course also contact us at any time: WhatsApp 07842 819592 is the quickest way to reach us from abroad, or email chris@astonburytravel.co.uk.
